From the Trading Post: Plenty of Options

Glenn Pohs,
Managing Director of Options, Cohen Capital Group LLC

When it comes to U.S. equity options trading, NYSE Euronext is leading the industry. Its two U.S. options exchanges — NYSE Arca and NYSE Amex — had a combined 27 percent of the volume in February. NYSE Euronext attributes the market share gains to its superior technology, expanded array of services and compelling dual market structure, which give customers and traders choice. To further align its interests with those of liquidity providers, NYSE Amex Options recently agreed to sell equity ownership interests to seven large firms.

“The combination of state-of-the-art technology and order-flow-providing equity partners has turned NYSE Amex into a very
attractive place
to do business,” says Glenn Pohs, managing director of options for Cohen Capital Group LLC.
